Field Biography and Architectural Mission
With over two decades in Pakistan's stone processing industry, Tariq Mehmood started his career as an apprentice stonemason in Karachi's Manghopir industrial belt in 2004. Over the past 22 years, he has personally inspected and graded more than 500,000 square feet of raw gangsaw slabs and certified book-matched lots for luxury residences in DHA Lahore, Bahria Town, and Gulberg Islamabad.
Tariq is an outspoken advocate for stone transparency in Pakistan. He actively educates home builders on avoiding common contractor malpractices — such as laying beige marble over damp grey cement (which causes yellow iron staining) or confusing resin-filled commercial rejects with authentic Grade A quarry blocks.
At Tavera Marble, Tariq leads the Quality Assurance Board alongside Senior Mining Consultant Engr. Farhan Ali, ensuring that every published rate guide, thickness specification, and turnkey cost calculation strictly reflects verifiable wholesale market realities.
